At first, photography opened my eyes… then it opened my mind.
I discovered photography about 9 years ago. It was only supposed to be a distraction after diabetic retinopathy stole my life-long passion for music, specifically the trumpet. Photography quickly became a multi-genre obsession ranging from weddings/portraiture, floral/fauna, ‘scapes/macro to still life/sports.
Mastering the qualities and theories of light, tonal range and color is paramount for this journey. Once I embraced these rules and standards – I broke them. It was only then that I could consider myself an artist. What inspires my art?? Anything from the banal to a jaw-dropping, once-in-a-lifetime moment.
Beyond my photography and retouching work, I occasionally mentor and hold small private workshops. My 10+ years as a Training Specialist with NAV CANADA made this a natural progression.
