June Derksen began working with glass since 1997. From stained glass, she moved towards glass fusing, which is now where her passion lies. Creating fused glass art captured from her imagination and visions from her surroundings, she creates pieces that invite the viewer in to explore the depth from the many layers of glass.
June uses sheet glass, crushed glass called “Frit”, vitrograph (strings of glass) and traditional stain glass enamel to create her work. Building layer upon layer and pouring crushed glass in a painterly manner to create her artwork.
